Last year we had so many amazing artists contribute to the tribute book. We got to see some artists that were unknown to us produce some heavy hitting fan art that blew us all away.
So we are glad to run this challenge again to celebrate SSV (shadowloo Showdown V 2014) we had so much good feedback from the artists and fans that we would like to take a second to thank you all.
Put your creative minds into gear and show us what you got. Rules and outlines are basically the same as last year, have a read below
Shadowloo Showdown is the largest fighting fame tournament in the Southern hemisphere. This is our 5th year and we are back once again with a challenge for our friends, fans in the art world!
The tribute will be for the amazing games that motivate us to become what we are today; games such as Street Fighter, Marvel vs. Capcom 3, and other new comers like Injustice! We want to capture the heart of the battle by using YOUR creativity to achieve this, either drawing your favorite characters mixed with your token tournament players (example, Sagat as an actual Tiger, Retired Bison, Tokido puppeteering Akuma in an illustration) or M. Bison standing over Magneto’s dead body,. Think outside the box, creativity is endless!
We have supplied you with the logos of the event in the Themed Content section.
The selected artworks will be printed in a custom made book alongside the artist that made it, and a few of the top entries will get a copy of the published book! With that being said, everyone who is selected will get their artwork promoted on our networks and also receive a digital copy of the book when it is released.
We want to see your unique take of the fighters and tournament lifestyle!

We are expecting a large amount of entries from the global community amongst our friends and fans, so please make sure that you follow the rules below. SUBMITTED ART THAT DOES NOT FOLLOW THESE RULES WILL NOT MAKE THE CUT.
Initial submissions must be via a low resolution JPEG (make the sample jpeg is no bigger than 1mb) e-mailed to: firstname.lastname@example.org – in that e-mail, please include your full name (legal/real name, and then preferred nickname) and proper mailing address; also the subject of your e-mail should be ‘Tribute Art Submission’.
Multiple entries are accepted and encouraged! If you send multiple artworks for the contest, please e-mail each entry on its own and ensure that your full contact information is included with each submission! We want to get you the credit you deserve!
Collaborations are welcomed as long as both artists are aware of the submission and are credited in the submission e-mail.
ONLY winning artists will receive e-mail confirmation. Please NO follow ups with e-mails asking us if your artwork has made the cut. We’ll contact you if your artwork has been chosen as soon as it happens.
Do NOT send full resolution illustrations unless we specifically ask you for them, as we don’t want to clog our servers and webmail space from being able to accept more submissions. If your artwork is accepted for the book, we will send you an e-mail and the process in which we are to receive the high resolution final image from you.
If you would like us to credit the artwork to a nickname/internet alias, please let us know! We want the world to know who you are!
